Handmade Kyphi Incense
$8.00 Sold out
Kyphi (also known as Kapet) is a compound incense that was used in Ancient Egypt.
This soft “dough incense” is made entirely by hand in very small batches, and then set aside to cure for a few weeks (turning on a daily basis, to dry out and cure evenly).
Ingredients include dried cherries, raisins, elderberries, juniper berries, honey, propolis, benzoin, frankincense, sandalwood, myrrh, dragon’s blood, orris root, galangal, and cinnamon.
You do not need to burn a huge chunk all at once -- much like resin/gum-based incenses, a little goes a long way. Pinch off a small amount, and place atop a smoldering charcoal tablet. Repeat as desired.
Please note: This is NOT a self-igniting incense (like cones or sticks), but must be burned on charcoal disks/tablets.
Please exercise care, and burn on a fire-proof container, in a well-ventilated area.
